The youth have spoken, and our community is listening.
In November 2025, Planet Youth conducted a survey among 10th grade students from École secondaire Népisiguit (ESN) and Bathurst High School (BHS). In total, 83% of eligible young people responded.
The results from this survey will help to better understand what can influence substance use in young people, such as situations or environments that may increase risk or, on the contrary, help them make healthier choices. They’ll also serve to mobilize the community in order to create even healthier environments for the youth of our region.
The Results
In spring 2026, the coalition Planet Youth Chaleur will analyze the survey results and identify concrete actions to be implemented in the community. The coalition will also meet with different sectors and decision-makers to encourage change at several levels.
These changes could include, for example:
more safe and accessible activities for young people
policies and environments better adapted to their needs
